Step 1: Find a Realtor

Find a knowledgeable and reliable Realtor that can help you navigate the buying process.  It should be someone you feel comfortable with, that can guide you through the tough decisions that come with buying a home.

Step 2: Choosing a Lender

If you need financing to purchase a home, there are many different loan options for you.  A loan officer can help find the right loan for you and get you pre-approved.  If you need help finding a loan officer to work with, I would be happy to send you a list that I recommend.

Step 3: Looking for a Home

You will work directly with your Realtor to find the perfect home.  You will probably look at a variety of homes and sometimes you find the perfect home quickly but other times it may take a while.  A great Realtor will be important in this process.

Step 4: Making an Offer

When you find that perfect home you want to buy; you need to make a formal offer on the home.  Your Realtor will type up the necessary documents for the contract and advise you on how to proceed.  If the seller accepts your offer you are now under contract!

Step 5: Appraisals & Inspections

A lot still needs to be done while under contract, including an appraisal, property inspections, repairs, financing paperwork, and more.  Don’t let this scare you though, your Realtor is there to assist you in getting this all accomplished in time.

Step 6: Closing Day!

Closing day is finally here!  A settlement attorney will have you sign the closing disclosure, loan documents, and other necessary paperwork to complete the transaction.  You will then get the keys to your home.  Congratulations you are now a homeowner!
